Overview

Jibility supports creating a roadmap using our Jibility Steps® method, either capability-based planning 6-Steps or objective-based planning 4-Steps. You can read more about the two methods here.

You can convert and "Save As" a 6-Step roadmap to a 4-Step roadmap or vice versa.

Note, this is a Professional and Enterprise plan feature.

To Save As a 6-Step or 4-Step, click on the tile menu and select the "Save as Change Step", as shown below.

You are prompted for the name of the converted roadmap, as illustrated below.

NOTE: A 6-Step roadmap is saved as a 4-Step and a 4-Step roadmap is saved as 6-Step.

Save As from 6-Steps to 4-Steps

Save As from 6-Steps to 4-Steps will make a copy of your 6-Step roadmap into a new roadmap document and convert it into 4-Steps. The following will happen:

1) The Capabilities and Actions steps are removed

2) Your capabilities are deleted and the links to objectives are also deleted.

3) All the actions assigned to initiatives are retained

4) If you have actions that are not assigned to initiatives, then an "Unassigned Actions" initiative is added to the last row in the Initiative Step as a container for all the unassigned actions. You can choose to retain these actions or delete them.

5) Actions assigned to the same initiative that have the same name are renamed with a suffix number, such as "Action (2)".

Save As from 4-Steps to 6-Steps

Save As from 4-Steps to 6-Steps will make a copy of your 4-Step roadmap into a new roadmap document and convert it into 6-Steps. The following will happen

1) The Capabilities and Actions steps are added

2) The Capability Step is empty; no capabilities are defined.

3) In the Initiative Step, any direct links to objectives from the 4-Step are deleted.

4) In the Action Step, all the actions are listed in the Unassigned bucket. You can drag/drop these into capabilities once you create them.
