NOTE: Jibility Cloud V1 is no longer supported. You should migrate to the Jibility Cloud V2 that supports multi-user collaboration.

This article will explain what happens when you activate or migrate to the multi-user collaboration Jibility cloud V2.

IMPORTANT - Things you must know before you switch.

  • Your current shared links for viewers will be invalidated and you will need to re-create a new shared link and re-issue the link to all shared users.

  • Only registered users with the new shared link can view. The current version of Jibility does not require a user to be a registered user to view your roadmap with a link. All viewers must now have a registered account. A viewer can be a free plan user.

  • Only paid subscribers can edit a shared roadmap. Free plan users will default to viewing only.

  • You cannot switch back to the previous version of Jibility.

Background

Jibility Cloud V1 does not support collaborative editing of your roadmap. ie. You cannot share and work on the same roadmap with multiple editors.

We have developed Jibility Cloud V2 that allows sharing for editing with multiple users. But, this will require a migration or conversion of your roadmap documents to the new Jibility Cloud V2 format.

To learn more about how to share your roadmap for viewing and editing, please read this.

What happens when I select to migrate?

In the announcement bar you will see a "Migrate" button like the following

When you click the "Migrate" button, this will convert your existing roadmaps into a new format required for multi-user collaboration in the Jibility Cloud V2. You need to know that

1) The migration is automatic and your existing roadmap content is preserved;

2) Jibility will continue to work the same except that the Share function is enhanced; and

3) All your existing shared roadmaps must be re-shared manually with a new link.

NOTE, you are prompted with "The migration may take a few minutes, please do not close your browser during the migration".

What will change or is new in Jibility Cloud V2?

Here are some key changes that you must know

1) Your previously shared roadmaps are no longer shared.
Your must re-create your shared link by selecting Share from the tile menu.

2) You can share a roadmap with specific users for viewing or editing

You can collaborate with other users for viewing or editing. After selecting Share, you are prompted to enter the email address of the shared users and their role (Viewer or Editor).

Note: Only paid subscribers can edit a shared roadmap. If you share your roadmap for editing with a user who is on a Free plan then they can view only.

3) Undo/Redo is no longer supported

We no longer support the ability to undo and redo your changes. We do allow you an opportunity to undo a deleted item. After deleting an object, a message and Undo button (similar to the example shown below) is displayed in the bottom left corner. This message will disappear after approximately five seconds or if you perform another action.
