The key new features this month are

  1. Find linked Objectives and Priorities on the Capability Map

  2. Select a specific initiative to include or exclude as priority

  3. Choose the Themes to display on your roadmap

  4. Export Initiative Summary List to Spreadsheet

Here's a quick summary of each new feature.

Find linked Objectives and Priorities on the Capability Map

When you have a lot of Objectives or Priority labels tagged to your capabilities, then sometime you want to see where these are tagged on your map.  Now, when you hover your mouse over the link counter in the left hand side legend then the corresponding Objective or Priority will be highlighted on your map.

Select a specific initiative to include or exclude as priority

Previously when prioritising your initiatives on the 2 x 2 you used the lasso, but there was no way to handle exceptions such as including or excluding a specific initiative as priority.  Now you can do this by selecting the initiative and changing its properties value to determine how you want the include or exclude an initiative as priority

Choose the Themes to display on your roadmap

When you have a large roadmap, and there are lots of themes, then the roadmap can be very tall and difficult to read when printed on a single page or exported as an image.  Suppose you want to break down the roadmap and show it in segments.  For example, you want to export the roadmap as two images where the first image is the roadmap and the first five Themes and the second image is the roadmap with the remaining Themes.

You can now choose which Themes you want to include on your roadmap document,

Export Initiative Summary List to Spreadsheet

You can now export the Initiative Summary List document to a spreadsheet, such as Microsoft Excel.

This feature is particularly useful when you want to import your list of Initiatives into another tool or just do some further data analysis.
