A Professional and Enterprise Plan Feature

Jibility supports the ability to import and add new objectives from an Excel spreadsheet.

Note; currently, this import feature does not support updating your objectives. It supports adding new objectives only.

The use cases for this feature are

1) You have an existing list of objectives that you want import into Jibility; and

2) You wish to make bulk changes to your list of objectives and it is easier to export them to Excel, delete all current objectives, apply changes to your list in Excel and re-import.

How to import Objectives from Excel?

Select the Objective Step to import objectives from Excel and click on the import objective button illustrated below.

TIPS: You can export the Objective Summary published document to Excel. The Objective Name, and Description columns in this spreadsheet are the columns imported by this feature.

A pop-up window (as illustrated below) will display an error message if an error occurs during import. You can retain a copy of all the error messages by manually selecting the messages in the text box and entering CTRL-C or click the "Copy & Close" button to copy the messages to the clipboard automatically. You can then paste the messages into a notepad or spreadsheet to analyze and address each error.

NOTE, imported objectives are always appended to the bottom of the existing list of objectives.

Import File Format

The import objectives feature is designed to import from an Excel spreadsheet similar to the Excel file created by the export function in the Objective Summary published document feature.

Here is an example of the Insure North Sample Roadmap Excel file for Objectives,

The following is a description of the expected Excel file format:

1) The import Excel file must have a header on line six.

2) The import Excel file must have at least two header columns: Objective Name and Objective Description.

3) The import Excel file may have a similar structure to the Jibility Objective Summary export file. Here is how the import objective feature will treat each column from the Objective Summary export document.
