Milestones on the roadmap

Jibility roadmaps show an initiative as a dot, and the initiative dot describes when the initiative must be delivered. Sometimes, there are events and outcomes (Milestones) which are not initiatives (or work) that must be delivered in your roadmap, but you still need to include these for context. These milestones could be internal or external to your organisation.

For example, your roadmap could have initiatives that must be completed in time for when a government imposed compliance requirement is due so that compliance requirement deadline could be shown as a milestone, as shown below.

Also, your roadmap could have initiatives dependent on another roadmap's outcome. In the following example, the Data Analytics procurement is an activity outside the scope of this roadmap, but its outcome is shown as a milestone to provide context.

Adding a milestone and creating dependencies

Drag and drop the "New Milestone" object in the left panel onto your roadmap, as illustrated below. You can define the milestone name in the right-side properties panel.

A milestone can have dependencies, just like for initiatives. To create dependencies, drag and drop the initiative onto the milestone.
