In 2020, we are introducing a new user interface to address some key feedback from our users, including

 1) Increased canvas workspace;
2) Reduced overall use of color; and
3) Simplified menu navigation.

We have incorporated these feedback, plus more, into the new look Jibility.  Importantly, the new look Jibility is backwards compatible so you can still open your Jibility files from the previous version.

NOTE, you can switch back to the previous version of Jibility using this URL: https://app19.jibility.com/.  However, all new features are available in the new look Jibility only.  The previous version of Jibility will phase out by the end of June 2020.

After logging into Jibility, you will see the following main page (shown below).  This is where you select to create a new strategic roadmap document, open an existing roadmap file or open a sample roadmap.

Upon opening a roadmap document, you will see the Jibility editor as shown below.

The key changes are described in the following sections.

Increased canvas workspace

You can now collapse the left and right panels to increase your canvas workspace area.  This is particularly useful when working on or showcasing your capabilities in the Capabilities step.

Note, when the left or the right panel is collapsed, by hovering your mouse over the edge of the left or right panels, this will automatically open the panel and hide it when you move your mouse away.  This is a quick way to get a glance of the panel content without keeping it opened. You can see this in action below.

Reduced overall use of color

Previously, the objects in each Jibility Step were colored to align with the Jibility logo colors.  Although this seemed like a meaningful metaphor, some users found the colors too overwhelming.  We have reduced the overall use of color except in the Capability step where the colors are used to convey meaning.

In the following example of the Initiative step the colors have been toned down to be more comfortable on the eyes.

Simplified menu navigation

The Jibility Step menu is now listed vertically on the left.  Previously the Jibility Step menu was horizontally placed and may have implied that the user had to apply each step sequentially (or step by step from left to right).  This was never the intention as Jibility was designed to support the ability to start from any step and to jump back and forward between steps.

Having the Jibility Steps in a column on the left will help convey that you can start from any step.

Note,
the Courses of Action step is now called the Action step.  This is a simplification we made to make it more consistent with other steps, and to make it easier for you to communicate with your stakeholders.

Sub-steps

For the Capabilities, Initiative and Roadmap steps, there are additional sub-steps.   These sub-steps are now accessed by selecting the sub menus that display when you hover your mouse over the main step menu.  You can see how this works in the animation below.

Tips: Hover your mouse over the step menu to display the sub-menu.  The sub-menu will stay opened and allow you to select each sub-menu so that you can see the content in each sub-menu area.  The sub-menu will close only when you move your mouse away.
